Become a participant in this load management program and receive a $1.25 credit on your monthly
electric bill.
How does the program work?
This program is designed to reduce peak load on the electric system during times of extreme
cold or extreme heat. During these times, a radio signal turns off the electric current to hot
water tanks with the switches. Once the peaking condition has passed, the radio signal ends
and current is restored. The program has resulted in significant savings to the Cooperative and
consumers.
The radio controlled switch can be installed on an electric water heater with a capacity of 50
gallons or more.
Incentives
South Central Power sends to participants in the program a one-time check of $15 and
then takes $1.25 off the monthly electric bill for as long as the consumer has the switch in place.
The switch is installed at no cost.
